Frogster to Debut Chapter III at GDC Frogster will for the first time give us a look at Runes of Magic’s third chapter during the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. The Berlin-based MMO publisher and its North American subsidiary, Frogster America, will be at booth 859 in the Moscone Center presenting first features of ‘Chapter III – The Elder Kingdoms’ which is scheduled for release this May in seven languages. Frogster will also be announcing a new product to expand the RoM universe into a new business field at the international developers’ conference. This new business field just might be facebook, which would certainly drive loads of interest regarding exactly how well they will implement a game in this area.
‘The Elder Kingdoms’, upcoming extensive expansion of Frogster’s successful MMORPG, Runes of Magic, will integrate a new continent into the popular fantasy world based on a new zone concept with unusually vast play areas. In addition to these new regions, a new PvP battleground and challenging new instances in the third chapter, players will be able to push their fighting skills to the limit by taking part in enormous battles between guild castles that include siege weaponry and up to 150 players per side. |

Game Preview: TERA's Third Closed Beta Test Bluehole Studio released details on the 3rd Closed Beta Test (CBT) of its Massively Multiplayer Role-Playing Game, TERA. Bluehole Studio spent 3 years and 32 billion Won (US$ 24 million) and a few prison sentances (on appeal) when developing TERA that matches with console game graphic quality and ground-breaking non-targeting gameplay system.
With its somewhat proprietary technology, TERA built an enormous scale of the Seamless World that includes cities, fields, NPCs and monsters. TERA features powerful action and strategic teamplay based on non-targeting battle system.
In this CBT, TERA will offer a part of six tribes, eight classes, and 88 characters. New content update for the CBT includes new maps, 68 techniques, a party invite bulletin, instance dungeons, and medal system.
Also, in the CBT, TERA features some additional movements such as swim, jump, climb as well as in-game voice chat via Hangame, Quick Menu, and equipment items.
Total of 20,000 users will be joining the 3rd CBT.

Taborea Brings In Spring With Style In Runes of Magic, winter is slowly coming to an end. The residents of the massive online world are looking forward to the start of spring. Citizens of Taborea will now be able to celebrate the changing of the seasons with the ‘Masked Ball’ fancy dress party.
Ancient legend tells us that the Barbarians of Candara survived cruel winters in Taborea and worked hard to survive the harsh realities of the cold. When the weather finally changed, they would celebrate the prospect of a rich harvest for the year. The ‘Masked Ball’ will continue this age old tradition as barbarians will dress up to welcome in the spring in full party mode.
Frogster is going to invite the player community of Runes of Magic to take part in these celebrations. Daily quests and a game world decorated for spring awaits adventurers of all levels. Rewards include ornamental masks, transformation potions and all sorts of goodies including cakes and fruits that will restore life. The ‘Masked Ball’ will launch with the next update patch which will be deployed across the servers in March. Further information can be found on the official website: www.runesofmagic.com
