The Lich King draws ever closer to the final confrontation between him and the heroes of Azeroth, and only the strongest knights will survive.  Players of WotLK are eagerly awaiting the release of patch 3.3, which finally unveils Ice Crown Citadel to players, and a fight between you and the Lich King.  New content means new encounters, new bosses, and more importantly, new loot.  Patch 3.3 will introduce a new legendary weapon to the game, the sister blade to Frostmourne: Shadowmourne. 
 
As with previous legendary weapons, acquiring Shadowmourne will not be an easy task, and only a few players will ever get the chance to actually wield the legendary blade.  The quest line is somewhat available on the PTRs, but may change by the time it’s released.  We know for sure that Shadowmourne will require the following:

♦   Shadowmourne will require a lot of Saronite.  Saronite is the hardened blood of the Old God, Yogg-Saron, and one of the main mining vein types in WotLK.

♦   To contain the power of Shadowmourne, blacksmiths of the Ashen Verdict will need fragments from the shattered prison of Frostmourne -- the thrown that the Lich King now sits on.

♦   Just as Frostmourne bathed in the souls of the righteous, Shadowmourne must bathe in the souls of the damned.  Players will need to take the crafted axe, Shadow’s Edge, and turn it into Shadowmourne by killing the soldiers of the Lich King.

While the axe is only available to Warriors, Paladins, and Death Knights, any guild that helps acquire this weapon for one of their members will reap the rewards.  This legendary is terribly powerful, and is sure to be a commanding ploy against the Lich King.  We wish any adventurer the best of luck in obtaining Shadowmourne for themselves.

New Maps, Bosses, Skills Among Expansion Features

The IGG Angels Online crew has released a short preview of the upcoming expansion for the game.  'Floating Island' will introduce a number of fresh ideas that include a new class, maps, equipment, bosses and more. Here are the details on the new content that will be hitting the live servers shortly.

New Angels Online Class

All players will have access to a brand new class - Assassins. The Assassin class focuses on speed and accuracy. In addition to the basic melee attack skills, Assassins will have a special copycat ability that will make them dangerous in any situation.

New Angels Online Maps

Adventurers who are keen on exploring the secrets of new maps will enjoy seven new scenes and an imposing instance included with the release of Floating Island. The island map itself floats above Dark City. What surprises are the ancient locals and their robotic protectors hiding? Players will also discover an ancient cave in the middle of Eden. Why has the mysterious Sunshine Palace been buried underground for so many years? The answers to these questions and more are waiting to be found if you can overcome the challenges and obstacles surrounding them.

New Bosses and New NPCs of Expansion

With brand new maps will come new stories, new NPCs and, of course, new bosses. From mighty boas that are as powerful as giant dragons to massive robots controlled by ancient technology, the denizens of the Floating Island are fiercely protective of their territory and their secrets. Naturally, the Evil Lyceum has its own devious plots for players to overcome.

New Special  Equipment

The Angels Online team will also be releasing various brand new pieces of equipment. Powerful gleaming weapons, imposing heaven suits, and amazing mounts and robots like the Polar Bear, Dragon Boat and Pegasus will give players plenty of new items to add to their characters’ collections.

Newly Added Skills

With the release of Floating Island, the character level limit will increase to 140. With more levels comes a series of super skills and stances, including two brand new skills for each class.

December 4th Marks Karos Online Open Beta Launch

Open Beta is just around the corner for NHN's fantasy MMORPG 'Karos Online' as it wraps up a very active closed beta phase which featured a large number of content updates based on player feedback.  We have not seen a closed beta with so much importance given to player feedback in a while, and it has paid off dramatically with a large player retention.  The Karos Online Open Beta will start on Friday, December 4th after closed beta has officially come to an end on November 28th.  While there will be a roll back of character progress, closed beta testers will be able to reserve their character names as open beta launches.

Here are the official details from NHN on the Karos Open Beta:

New characters will come fully-equipped with gear and items to support high-level play, and the rate of experience gain has been dramatically increased so that players can reach a level cap of 44 almost immediately. In addition, the names of characters created during the last closed beta event will be linked to the testers' accounts for use in open beta and launch (the characters themselves will be wiped after the event). "In the previous Karos Online closed beta weekends, players were able to try early levelling and the starter content of the game," said Heejin Jeong, Senior Overseas Sales Manager at NHN Corporation. "The third event offers the opportunity to play as a much more powerful character, and there will be new features available this time that players haven't seen before, including new monsters, weapons and Holy Creatures. This will be the last closed beta event for Karos Online, we think it's going to be a lot of fun and we hope to see a lot of testers return to help us celebrate the end of a very productive closed beta."
