Runes of Magic

Runes of Magic Massively Takes First

Runes of Magic certainly took the Free to Play gaming world by storm in 2009 and now they have some bling to go along with it.  Recently, our friends over at Massively (www.massively.com) held their annual Reader’s Choice and Editor’s Choice Awards to give credit to games that have a strong user following and player satisfaction.  While we think that larger games like Runes of Magic certainly have an advantage because they can stuff the ballot box, it is still a strong indicator of which game publishers are doing things right.

When all was said and done, Runes of Magic was the runaway winner scoring either a Reader’s Choice or Staff Choice Award in all of the positive categories. The massive community of Runes of Magic players overwhelmed the polls, creating huge margins between Runes of Magic and all other MMO games launched in 2009.  This does not necessarily prove that it is the best game on the market, but should speak volumes to how dedicated its userbase is at promoting it to fellow gamers.

“Our players really came out and supported us and we want to thank them for making Runes of Magic the top MMO game of 2009 and helping it sweep the reader’s choice awards,” said Lars Koschin, CEO of Frogster America, Inc. “With more than 2.5 Million registered accounts, the Runes of Magic Community is a force to be reckoned with and they are very passionate about the game.”

Good job to the Frogster team and to the Runes of Magic community that worked together to vote in the awards and ensure that the game they play gets the credit they beleive it deserves.  Keep up the good work!
