So if you are wondering why there has been such a huge trend in launching MMOs in multiple languages, the truth is North America and the UK are great markets but pale in comparison to foreign ones.  For instance, World of Warcraft is big, but 75% of its business is outside the united states.  In the free to play category of online games, other countries are also a bit more use to the premium shop model.  The benefit that this brings everyone is that it allows for greater revenue to the game maker so we keep getting really cool updates.
