Present a unique version of Ys by re-demonstrating the game mechanics and settings of the legendary Ys series, known as one of top 3 most venerable Japanese RPGs, and adding trendy characteristics of MMORPG. It has developed a mythical world by re-creating the Era of the greatest Adventure, the time of Adol’s adventure.
Ys adventure sets out a mystical world with dark secrets of Romune, the center of the Ys world, dark spells in the entire continent, and 6 lords and 6 ancient books sealed with magic spells. Who will you be? A powerful Afrocan fighter? A wise Kimo or a skillful Eresian? Join a story that started 22 years ago and defeat the hordes of evil creatures invading the mystical Romune Empire, from seaport Lutino to Peruzard. You won’t be alone to follow the steps of Grey the Brave Hero. Many battles await you.
The founding of the Romune Empire ignited in the hearts of people the hope of stability and peace. During its youth, Emperors ruled wisely, justly, nobly. Cities flowered, lives bloomed and people were content. Many hoped that this golden age would last; their dreams were still plagued, the past was whispered and accompanied by entreaties to uncaring gods.
The old died, and the young remembered the twelve great warriors - the ones who catalyzed the creation of this new Empire - as mere bedtime stories. During that time, the Empire's original vision was trimmed, excised and annexes added to fit with modern times. Thus modified, it soured.
Bored nobility and crafty merchants, grown fat off the fat of the land, ushered an age of hedonism where anything can be bought and sold. Perhaps the land knew and it reflected its people's capriciousness. As they schemed, fought and quarreled like petty children; Europa changed.
Old City Lutino and its inhabitants were drowned in the crash of tidal waves and shifting earth. Seaport Lutino, tossed together as a refugee haven, was struck down by a mysterious plague. Worse still, monsters rose from the bowels of the earth to harass the Seaport's inhabitants.
Meanwhile, in Walden, home to the nature-loving Kimoans, a Siram donning Kimoan armor killed a Kimoan in the Spirits Ruins Valley. Enraged, the Kimoans uncharacteristically sought the Siram for revenge. In addition, the Spirits Ruins natives, the Vaiger - once friendly with Kimoans - raided and slaughtered the new settlers.
As if on cue, monster hordes also appeared on the fields of the Empire and wantonly attacked cities and villages. The Panzers and Royal Army were mobilized, and magical scholars were sent to the trouble spots. The Empire also blockaded mines where monsters were coming out from. But the miners, desperate for ore and food, sneaked into Ruminel Gullet with their carts and pickaxes. They never came home.
Where a time ends, a new time begins. The golden age, the dream was over. And turbulent times have returned. Yet in danger lies salvation, heroes from Eresia, Afroca and Kimo came in droves to the Empire; each one with a gleam in their eye, their family's sword by their side, and dreams fueled by the bedtime stories of a great red-haired warrior.
