Top 5 Most Hated NPC's in Online GamesPosted by Princessdoll in Untagged |
|
BlogsBlog about everything or just blog about games.
After watching pacman's fight yesterday thanks to streaming, (lol at Cotto's running method up to round12) I was really happy that he is gaining a great name from 0 to hero they say.
Anyway this has nothing to do with what I'm about to write now, I just made a list of my top 5 most hated NPC. Well, if you love something you hate something too right? These are the times when you really want to grab the NPC through your monitor if you can, then just smash it to pieces or kill it badly!
I just want to share my ran- I mean.. My list... lol! Don't expect much as I only put the common jobs of NPCs that are used by most games.
5. NPC Job changer - not all! But some are really mean you just want to cry out loud. Ever experience being a noob? First time to play the game and you're so excited to change job that when you reach the right level the NPC would say "You need to give me this and this and this... and so on" before you can change your job.
Of course you have no choice but to follow the instructions of the NPC because whatever you do, you can't argue with it and it won’t answer back as it is only set to answer chosen questions.
Too bad your dream job is reachable but still feels it was taken away by the NPC.
4. NPC Dealers - Really! Can somebody just tell me where the hell it the right NPC to get the items/clothes I need?!
So many NPC scattered throughout the map that you are so confuse which one holds the right items you want to buy. Pretty mean right? Can't they just have a main store or mall where all the items are there? Do they really have to travel in different places then will ask for your help because they are stuck and can't move? I mean "What the? Why did you even bother leaving your town if you’re gonna be stuck in the middle of the dessert?!"
3. NPC random - they are the type of NPC were they have no significance at all. They just either complains a lot, talks to you automatically whenever you pass them by or just say nonsense. You don't even know what they are doing there anyway!
No quest nor items nor any important stories to say. Just a display in a corner of the street to make you be curious as to what could they possibly be doing there. Maybe will give you item if you talk to it, but no, regretfully, it's just there to make you forget what you are suppose to do for a while?
2. NPC PK mode - Not all have this but still it really bothers you to fight an NPC. Why on earth do they have godly stats? And you have to be really high level before bothering to defeat them??
Ok so the developers gave an answer to players demanding to kill the NPC by making a high leveled NPC. I just want to kill it, just make me feel like killing it for once because of their quest, items and upgrades but why can we only attack the same NPC? The one and only NPC that has a high skills?? That's too cruel!!
1. NPC Upgrader - I don't know about you guys but really I suck in luck BAD!! So BAD that I really want to just kill this NPC if I have to! Most online games have upgrader weapons, equipments and clothes. Almost all requires a good luck charm to be successful and if you’re one of the players who was chosen by the NPC that your item will be destroyed no matter what stats you have then you'll understand me.
Well luck is luck and whatever the chances are, you still have a chance to fail. Even if it’s a little percentage of fail, it still bothers you right? Especially if you worked hard to obtain the item you want. Don't want it to be destroyed in seconds.
Nothing seem to make you jaw drop by looking at your months of grinding item be destroyed in just 2 seconds. It hurts badly!!
A class-action lawsuit filed in San Francisco wants to take iPhone game developer Storm8 to task for what it calls "malicious software code." The suit accuses Storm8 of exploiting a backdoor method to retrieve users' phone numbers without their permission in games such as "iMobsters" and "Vampires Live." We reached out to Apple for a comment, and though the representative we spoke wasn't familiar with the case, he did articulate Apple's position on the practice Storm8 has been accused of.
"There is no violating privacy," Apple's VP of iPod and iPhone product marketing Greg Joswiak told MTV News. "That's one of the things we look for, so if that did happen I'm either unaware or unfamiliar."
The lawsuit, does not point any fingers at Apple. It even corroborate's Apple's policy. "Apple does not provide to sellers the personal information of iPhone or iPod Touch users to App Store developers, such as Storm8," the suit reads.
Joswiak explained that any developers found engaging in such practices could face having their apps pulled from the App Store.
"That's one of the things that we're always looking for," Joswiak said. "That's part of the beauty of the way we have the App Store set up, because if you find something like that out we can deal with it. A) We can pull it down. B) We know who the developer is. Remember there's nothing anonymous."
Storm8 currently has dozens of apps downloadable through the App Store, which have not been taken down, and contends that number farming was a "bug" in their games' software. The lawsuit contends that coding capable of pulling numbers would have to be too complex to be an accident. Bug or not, if any of games are found doing such things again, there could have more than consumers to worry about, since Joswiak explicitly called such information farming without consent "verboten."
What is this event? It’s about the CTR new event where you have to chase the GMs. It’s really interesting, funny in a sense and full of players who want to take the GMs down and pawned. The players keep tracking down the GM and even do teamwork just to catch the GM. Some even blocks the other players to just win. I am expecting this to happen. This is not a regular event, you have to use your head and need a team to focus on chasing the GM really. Some players quarrel a lot saying it’s unfair because some do teamwork and some do solo but the point of the game is to not just chase the GM, you have to plan a strategy on everything! Firstly, you’re not the only one who wants to have fame and glory, lots of players wants to have it! Either personal reason or just for fun to chase the GMs, they are still all your enemies! Yes, you don’t have to just deal on the GM himself, but your enemies are the co-players who want the prize to. It’s like the mobs are the players then after you beat them you can go fight the boss (GM). Secondly, make a plan on how to deal with the co-players. It’s best to get used on the map “Section A” and do some shortcuts. You have to be the first to arrive at the first destination point of the GM so that you can wait and catch the GM afterwards. Thirdly, if someone already beaten you on busting the GM’s car. Try to block the one who is following the GM. so that the possibility of that player to catch the GM will lessen. This way the player’s name will be removed on the GMs view and it’s your time to chase it. Advantages of having teamwork: (a)You can share the blessing (share the reward etc.) (b)You can talk and make strategy plan (assign which one will block the others while who will chase the GM etc.) (c)Easier to catch the GM because your many. Funny part though is sometimes the GM plays with the players like car toys. They keep changing directions and do things that will make the player’s cars bump to each other or bump on the sideways which is funny to watch really. I sometimes just watch them and laugh.

The Trivia Event started lots of players are playing the game just to participate on the said event!
Reason? Just for fun I guess..
Fame??
Ranking…
CT (currency in-game)!!!
Ok fine, you get the point right?
It’s easy to earn CTs at the trivia Event, every successful login on the championship lobby you already won 5k CT.
30K for the 1st placer
20k for the 2nd placer
10k for the 3rd placer
Mechanics? Very simple! Just wait for the time the Trivia Event will start, after that a GM will give a question. The answer to that question will be the password for entering the Room at the Championship lobby and once you’re inside congratulations you have 5k CT!
But that’s not the end of it; you will also prove your driving skills because the Room will start a match which will determine the 3rd to 1st placers.
I really enjoyed this event, lots of players interacting, and talking, and spamming (lol! :P) and trying to show they are fastest to all.
Also answering the question is a bit challenging, though it is easy really you just need to read a bit at their website for the answers or go to some sections in your home area to see it!
I hope I can play with some of my friends, they are a different time zone and I know they are enjoying the Trivia Event at night. (my time to play is by morning.. sad..)
Hope to see and meet some players there!
Being at the forefront of fashion, you should be familiar with DBSK, the Korean boy band that is famed for its members’ fashion sense. DBSK’s five members, U-Know, HERO, Xiah, Micky and MAX have long been regarded as important trend setters and attracted a strong following!
Now you can choose the lastest to dress yourselves up to look as stylish as the fashionable members of the boy band!

“I played the game for three years now because this is where I found Friends who share the same level of interest as I do. Friends that cannot be seen in-real or at close range like classmates, but friends who can offer a relationship that could stand the test of time.”
This is the exact statement of a student who was scolded by his father after he was caught playing an Online Game during the times he should be in class. Computer addiction could be very alarming as told by the experts in Human Behavior, but have they asked why children of today are pulled into the game?
One of the main advantages of having an Internet Connection is the opportunity to reach out other people, wherever they are or whatever time zone they are in. As long as you are online, the possibilities are endless. An Online Games is one of the possibilities you could think of.
Is it for Companionship?
-In Online Games you can be someone that is really not you. Or you can be popular by showing your true self which the people in your place can’t seem to appreciate. Or you can gain friends, interact with the same level as you are, or be someone who everyone wants to be. Just like coming out of a tight shell, they can have the access to express themselves without worrying if they offended some or break rules because, well it’s just an internet!
Being lonely because you’re a shy or quiet type but once you type something on your keyboard you start talking like it’s not really you? Some can easily express themselves because they know no one will know it’s them. You are just one out of billions of people who is living in this world. Of course you won’t be recognized by anyone that easily, and by expressing yourself freely without boundaries and someone noticed you and accepted you from who you are, you start to feel relief and be thankful that internet work wonders.
Is it for Boredom?
-It is obvious right? You don’t have anything to do or you want to try something out. It’s like you can choose if you want to play basketball while the sun is hot and up or you can play fighting games inside your house sitting pretty in your chair and with air con/electric fan to make you feel more comfortable.
Laziness is showing a bit but well it’s your life anyway. You’re just bored to death inside your house and the only thing available to do is play online games. At least you can still interact to some people even if you’re not outside.
Is it for refuge?
-We’re going to discuss refuge. The youth of today, without being bias or one-sided is considerably weaker than the earlier generations. They tend to stumble on the lightest of problems, and crippled on the slightest of mistakes. Online games became a staple “point of refuge”. This world is a natural disaster playground. We have typhoons, volcanos, and man-made disasters all year round. An also real life problem occurs too like family problems, financial need or accident issues. Some individuals may lose hope because of this but others divert the fear and condense it to a whole new world found in cyberspace.
“At least there are no disaster occurrences in-game, excluding lags and company issues. All in all it is a safe ground for us, and sometimes we forget even for a brief period of time that some of my family members got killed in an accident.”

Actually the hardest debate I’ve encountered is with my dad, and it’s not even religion related. The debate is about what is the good thing in wasting money just to play online games. How am I going to explain this to a work-dedicated individual who never experienced playing online games. What’s the purpose of spending thousands of dollars for a simple pixilated thing that you can’t even call your own where as you can already pay the bills with that sum of money. The debate is close to eternal, but I’m sure some will understand because I’m sure only a gamer by passion and heart will understand another gamer. It is the topic that leads into confusion, questioning oneself, and maybe guilt.
Well I guess that makes sense, learn to balance out things and priorities and you’ll never go wrong with your life. And, as I may quote, “there is no greater MMORPG than Life”.
